The whole of the record is interesting and even though he attempted a similar scope with "Hawks and Doves", this one is a notch better. I love "The Old Country Waltz" as an opener and the spit and venom of "Bite the Bullet" comes across strongly. With that said, I think "Stars N' Bars" is a nicely patched and tattered sort of record with oddball moments like "Will to Love"(very underrated song) sequenced along with lesser songs like "Saddle Up the Palomino" and "Hold Back the Tears" and then "Like a Hurricane" emerges along with "Homegrown" featuring the "force of the Horse".
